Answer:

Find out the curved surface area,total surface area, and the volume of the cylinder .

To proof

As given

The diameter of a cylinder is 28cm and its height is 40cm.

Radius of the cylinder

= \frac{28}{2}

=14 cm

Formula

Curved\ surface\ area\ of\ a\ cylinder = 2\pi r h

where r = radius, h = height

\pi = \frac{22}{7} , r = 14cm , h =40 cm

put in the formula

= \frac{2\times22\times14\times40}{7}

= 3520 cm²

Formula

Total \ surface\ area = 2 \pi r (r + h)

put the value

\pi = \frac{22}{7} , r = 14cm , h =40 cm

we get

= \frac{2\times22\times14 (14 +40)}{7}

= \frac{2\times22\times14\times54}{7}

= 4752cm²

Formula

Area\ of\ cylinder = \pi r^{2} h

put

\pi = \frac{22}{7} , r = 14cm , h =40 cm

= \frac{22\times14\times14\times40}{7}

=24640 cm³

Round to the neatest cubic centimeter. The formula for the volume of a cylinder is V=Bh or V=πr2h . The radius of the cylinder is 8 cm and the height is 15 cm. Substitute 8 for r and 15 for h in the formula V=πr2h .
