Guru Nanak was born in the year 1469.

Guru Nanak founded the Sikhism religion and is the first of ten gurus of the Sikhs. He was born in Katak month on a full moon day. Because of this, Sikhs celebrate his birthday as Kartik Pooranmashi or Guru Nanak Gurpurab.
