Find the whole quantity, if :
(i) 5% of it is 600
(ii) 40% of it is 500 km
(iii) 8% of it is 40 litres.​

(I)5% of it is 600

Let the number be x

5% of x =600

5/100 ×x=600

x=600×100/5

=12000

(ii) 40% of x=500km

40/100×x=500km

x=500×100/40

=1250km

(iii)8% of x=40

x=40×100/8

=500litres(Answer)
