If first number is 25 and second is 35, it means the numbers are increasing by 10.
So x will be 45.

Hope it helps...

Given terms : 25 , 35 , x.

From the properties of Ratio and proportion, we know :

If three or more numbers are in continued proportion, the ratio of first term to second term and Ratio of second term to third term remains same.

Therefore,

= > Ratio of 25 and 35 = Ratio of 35 and x

= > 25 : 35 = 35 : x

= > x = ( 35 x 35 ) / 25

= > x = ( 7 x 5 x 7 x 5 ) / ( 5 x 5 )

= > x = 7 x 7

= > x = 49

Thus,
the required numeric value of used variable 'x' is 49.
