Let us assume that given triangle is ABC

★AD is the perpendicular bisector

Here,

AB=AC=37 and AD=12

To find:

BC=x

As AB=AC,

∆ABC is an isoceles triangle

Implies,BD=CD

Now,

In ∆ABD,

By Pythagoras theorm,

AB²=BD²+AD²

→BD²=AB²-AD²

=37² - 12²

=(37+12)(37-12)

=(49)(25)

=1225

BD=35

Hence,BD=CD=35

Since BC=BD+CD,

BC=35+35

=70

Thus,x=70 units
