3 and 3 will be cancelled and -1 and 1 will be cancelled so the answer will be zero . Hence, proved that 1/3 is the zero of the polynomial 3x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Finding a zero of p(x), is same as solving the equation

p(x)=0

i.e. 3x+1=0

⇒3x=−1

⇒x=−31

So, −31 is a zero of the polynomial 3x+1.
