Let p(X)=1
1^2+1-3=1≠0

Let p(X)=-1
(-1)^2-1-3=-3

Let p(X)=3
3^2+3-3=9

Let p(X)=-3
(-3)^2-3-3=3

Clearly there's no zero of this polynomial.
