Find the zeroes of the following quadratic polynomials and verify the relationship between the zeroes and the coefficient
4u2+ 8u
and t - 15

Answer :

1) 4u² + 8

⇒ 4u ( u + 2 ) = 0

⇒ 4u = 0 or u + 2 = 0

⇒ u = 0 or u = -2

VERIFICATION :

Sum of zeroes = - b/a

⇒ - 2 + 0 = - 8/4

⇒ - 2 = - 2

Product of zeroes = c/a

⇒ - 2 * 0 = 0/4

⇒ 0 = 0

⇒ t² - (√15)² = 0

⇒ ( t + √15 ) ( t - √15 ) = 0

⇒ t = - √15 or t = √15

VERIFICATION:

Sum of zeroes = - b/a

⇒ - √15 + √15= 0 / 1

⇒ 0 = 0

Product of zeroes = c/a

⇒ -√15 * √15 = -15/1

⇒ -15 = -15
