Given :     x³  - 6x² + 12x - 8 ,   x³ + 6x² + 11x  + 6

To find : Zeroes

Solution:

x³  - 6x² + 12x - 8 = 0

x = 2

=> 8 - 24 + 24 -8 = 0

=> x - 2 is a factor

x³  - 6x² + 12x - 8  = (x - 2)(x² - 4x + 4)

(x² - 4x + 4)  = 0

=> (x - 2)² = 0

=> x = 2

x³  - 6x² + 12x - 8  = (x - 2)³

zeroes are  2 ,

x³ + 6x² + 11x  + 6

x = -1

=> -1 + 6 - 11 + 6 = 0

=> (x + 1) is a factor

x³ + 6x² + 11x  + 6 = (x + 1)(x² + 5x + 6)

x² + 5x + 6 = 0

=> (x + 2)(x + 3) = 0

=> x  = -2 , -3

Zeroes are - 1, -2 , - 3
