Given,

  • The polynomial is x^2-2x-8.

To find,

  • We have to find the zeros of the polynomial x^2-2x-8.

Solution,

We can simply find the zero of the polynomial by equating the polynomial x^2-2x-8 to 0.

             x^2-2x-8 = 0

Now, factorizing the above quadratic polynomial, we get

            x² -4x+2x-8

Taking x common, we get

            x (x-4) +2(x-4)

Taking (x-4) common, we get

          (x-4)(x+2)

          x = 4, -2

Hence, the zeroes of the polynomial of x^2-2x-8 are 4 and -2.
