Given :  ⅓ and ¾

To Find :  three rational numbers between ⅓ and ¾ [ by using the idea of mean]

Solution:

Mean of two numbers always lie between numbers

Mean of two rational number is always a rational number

if a and b are 2 rational numbers

then mean of a and b  = (a + b )/2

then Mean of a  and   (a + b )/2  ,  Mean of b  and   (a + b )/2  will be 3 rational numbers  between a and b

a = 1/3

b = 3/4

(a + b) /2  = ( 1/3  + 3/4)/2  =   13/24

(1/3 + 13/24)/2 =   21/48 = 7/16

( 13/24 + 3/4)/2 = 31/48

13/24  , 7/16  and 31/48  are three rational numbers between ⅓ and ¾
