the diagram can be divided like this :

2 - 2 ---2 , 1

SO,

2Ω divides into 1Ω and 2Ω . this new 2Ω divides into 2Ω and 1 Ω again (diagonal and side)

Lets start from the smallest division (diagonal and side)

as they r in parallel : 1/R = 1/2+1

R=2/3

Now upper side and this one are in series so.

2/3 + 2 = 8/3Ω

nowboth the sides are in parallel ..... the first division :

1/1 + 3/8  = 11/8

R=8/11

now the first resistance outside the square : 2+ 8/11

                                                                        = 30/11

Therefore net resistance : 30/11 Ω
