Given,

R₁ = 3 Ω

R₂ = 6 Ω

R₁ and R₂ are in series,

Effective Resistance R = (R₁+R₂)

= (3+6) Ω

= 9 Ω

R and R₃ are in parallel,

Effective Resistance = 1/R = 1/9+1/9

= 1/R = (1+1)/9

= 1/R = 2/9

= R = 9/2 Ω

= R = 4.5 Ω

The Total/Effective Resistance is 4.5 Ω.
