The two consecutive numbers are 37 and 38

Given:

Sum of two consecutive natural number is 75

To find:

Find the two consecutive natural numbers

Solution:

Consecutive natural number:

  • Consecutive numbers are numbers which follow each other in order from the small to the large number with common difference 1 or some times it will be more than 1 [according to given set of numbers]
  • Example: 1, 2, 3, 4 are 4 consecutive number

                        3, 5, 7 are 3 consecutive odd numbers

Given sum of two consecutive natural number is 75

Let x be a natural number then its consecutive number will be x+1

⇒ Two consecutive numbers are x and x+1

Given sum of (x, x+1) = 75

⇒ x + x + 1 = 75

⇒ 2x = 74

⇒ x = 37

⇒ x+1 = 37 +1 = 38

Therefore, the two consecutive numbers are 37 and 38
