Find two consecutive odd numbers such that when the smaller number is subtracted from three times the bigger number, the result is 56 ​

Answer:

let the 1st number be x then 2nd odd number is x+2

3(x+2)-x=56

3x-x+6=56

2x=50

x=25

x+2=27

Given :-

  • Smaller number be x.
  • Bigget number be x + 2.

To find :-

  • The two consecutive number.

According to the question,

⇨ 3 ( x + 2 ) - x = 56

⇨ 3x + 6 - x = 56

⇨ 2x = 56 - 6

⇨ 2x = 50

⇨ x = 50 ÷ 2

.°. x = 25

  • Smaller consecutive number x = 25
  • Bigger consecutive number x + 2 = 25 + 2 = 27.

⇨ 3 ( x + 2 ) - x = 56

⇨ 3 ( 25 + 2 ) - 25 = 56

⇨ 3 × 27 - 25 = 56

⇨ 81 - 25 = 56
