Let the consecutive terms be x and x+2

Therefore,x+x+2=56

2x+2=56

2(x+1)=56

x+1=56/2

x+1=28

x=28-1

x=27

Therefore nos. are 27 and (x+2) i e..29

let the first odd number be 'x'

the second number = 'x+2'

sum = 56

x+x+2 = 56

2x+2=56

2x=54

x=\frac{54}{2}

x=27

∴ The first number is = x = 27

   The second number is = x+2 = 27+2 = 29
