Hey there !!

Q. Find two numbers whose sum is 75 and difference is 15 .

Solution :-

Let the one number be x,

And, other number be y .

Now, A/Q

Sum of two numbers is 75 .

∵ x + y = 75............(1).

And, their difference is 15 .

∵ x - y = 15.......(2).

On substracting equation(1) and (2) , we get

x + y = 75.

x - y = 15.

-   +     -

________

⇒ 2y = 60 .

⇒ y = 60/2 .

∴ y = 30 .

Now, put the value of y in equation (1), we get

x + y = 75 .

⇒ x + 30 = 75 .

⇒ x = 75 - 30 .

∴ x = 45 .

Hence, the two required number is 45 and 30 .

Let the first number = x
Let the second number = y

Now ,

According to the Question :

x+y = 75 -(1)
x-y = 15 -(2)

Adding (1)&(2) ,

2x = 90
x=45

Now , put x=45 in (1)

x+y=75
45+y=75
y=75-45 = 30
