Answer:

larger no. = x

Smaller no. = y

x+3y = 7 - 1

2x+ y = 9 - 2

2x+6y = 14(multiplying 2 to 1)

-2x-y= -9

5y = 5

y = 1

x = 7-3y

x = 7- 3(1)

x = 7- 3

x = 4

larger no. = x = 4

smaller no. = y = 1
