Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the two numbers are A and B

Then, mean proportion= √(A*B)

i.e. A*B = (16)² = 256

Let third proportion be X then,

A/B = B/X

A/B = B/128

Now, A= 256/B

256/B² = B/128

cross multiplying,   B³= 256*128 = 32768

B= ∛32768 = 32

So, A=  256/B = 256/32= 8

Hence, the two numbers are 8 and 32 :)
