Let the numbers be x and y

So, x + y = 27 and xy = 182

According to the question,

x = 27 - y

So, xy = 182

( 27 - y )y = 182

27y - y² = 182

y² - 27y + 182 = 0

y² - 13y - 14y + 182 = 0

y( y - 13 ) + 14( y - 13 ) = 0

( y - 13 )( y + 14 ) = 0

y = 13 or - 14

\therefore{} The numbers are 13 or -14

let 1st no, be x

sum of 2 no. is 27

x + second no.= 27

secobd no. = 27- x

now, the product = 182

x * ( 27 - x ) = 182

27x - x^2 = 182

x^2 - 27x +182 = 0

x^2 -13x-14x +182 = 0

x ( x-13 ) - 14 (x -13 ) =0

(x-13) - ( x -14 ) =0

x -13 =0 or x-14 = 0

sa, x may be 13 or 14
so two numbers are 13 or 14 .
