Given: Two numbers 2 and -2

To find: Two rational numbers between the given numbers

Solution:

Using average method:

To find rational numbers between 2 and -2, we need to find the average of 2 and -2.

i.e., \frac{2 \ + \ (-2)}{2} = \frac{2 \ - \ 2}{2} = \frac{0}{2} =0

We get, -2 < 0 < 2

Now we need to find average of 0 and 2 to find another rational number.

i.e., \frac{0 \ + \ 2}{2} = \frac{2}{2} = 1

We get, -2 < 0 < 1 < 2

Hence, two rational numbers between -2 and 2 are 0 and 1.
