3u + 2v = 29 ............(1)

2u - v = 18 ......... (a).....multiply eq. by 2

=> 4u - 2v = 36 ...............(2)

Add (1) and (2),

7u = 65

=> \fbox{u = 65/7}

Put u = 65/7 in (a),

2(65)/7 - v = 18

v = 130/7 - 18

v = (130-126)/7

\fbox{v = 4/7}

Thus,

u = 65/7

v = 4/7
