=-3x-7=x+19

=-7-19=3x+x

=-26=4x

=-26/4=x

therefore x= -26/4

-(3x+7) =x+19

-3x-7 = x+19

-3x-x = 19+7

-3x-x = 26

-4x = 26

x = 26/4

x = 6.5
