find value of k if pair of linear eqation 4x+6y-1=0and 2x+ky-7=0 represent parallel lines

The two given lines are

4x + 6y - 1 = 0 ...(i)

2x + ky - 7 = 0 ...(ii)

If the two lines (i) and (ii) be parallel to each other,

{coefficient of x of (i)}/{coefficient of x of (ii)}
= {coefficient of y of (i)}/{coefficient of y of (ii)}

=> 4/2 = 6/k

=> 2 = 6/k

=> 2k = 6

=> k = 6/2

=> k = 3

Therefore, the value of k is 3.
