So ,

⇒ p² + q² = 29.

⇒ p² + q² - 2pq = 29 - 2pq.

⇒ ( p - q )² = 29 - 2*10

⇒ ( p - q )² = 29 - 20.

⇒ ( p - q )² = 9

⇒ p - q = √9.

p - q = ±3 .

Hence the value of (p-q) is ±3.
