ANSWER:

  • Value of x is (-1) and y is 1.

GIVEN:

  • 3x-7y = -10
  • y-2x -3 = 0

TO FIND:

  • Value of 'x' and 'y'.

SOLUTION:

1st equation:

=> 3x-7y = -10 ....(i)

2nd equation :

=> y-2x = 3

Muntiplying both sides by 7

=> 7y-14x = 21 ....(ii)

Adding eq (i) and (ii) we get;

=> 3x-14x = -10+21

=> -11x = 11

=> x = (-1)

Putting x = (-1) in eq(i)

=> 3(-1)-7y = -10

=> -3-7y = -10

=> -7y = -10+3

=> y = -7/-7

=> y = 1

Value of x is (-1) and y is 1.

Answer:

QUESTION :

Find value of X and y in 3x-7y + 10 = 0 and y-2x-3=0

SOLUTION :

To find the value of x and y, we should use substitution method..

Let,

3x - 7y + 10 = 0 .......... (1)

y - 2x - 3 = 0 .......... (2)

We can write the equation (2) as,

y = 2x + 3 .......... (3)

  • Substitute the value of the equation (3) in equation (1)

3x - 7( 2x + 3 ) + 10 = 0

3x - 14x - 21 + 10 = 0

- 11x - 11 = 0

- 11x = 0 + 11

- 11x = 11

x = 11 / (-11)

x = - 1

Now we have got the value of x.

  • Substitute the value of x in the equation (3) to get the value of y.

y = 2(-1) + 3

y = -2 + 3

y = 1

  • CHECKING.....

To check whether the values are correct are not... substitute the values of x & y in any equation.

3x - 7y = - 10

  • LHS = RHS

LHS = 3x - 7y ; RHS = - 10

3(-1) - 7(1)

- 3 - 7

-10

HENCE, THE VALUES OF x = -1 & y = 1
