find value of x in following figure

Solution :-

Here both the angles are in straight line, so their sum will be 180°.

=> ( 2x + 60° ) + ( 3x - 40° ) = 180° .

=> 2x + 3x + 60° - 40° = 180°.

=> 5x + 20° = 180° .

=> 5x = 180° - 20° .

=> 5x = 160°.

=> x = 160°/5.

=> x = 32° .

Hence the value of x is 32° .
