find value of x .

Please show full step by step . I have got a homework I am not understanding this , so answer will be helpful.
in book answer is given = 5, x=5 but I don't know how I do it.

u can do it by cross multiplication method...

Cross multiply both sides

3(x+2)=7(x-2)

3x+6=7x-14

7x-3x=6+14

4x=20

x=5
