The length and breadth of a rectangle are in the ratio 4:3 . If the diagonal measures 25 cm , then find it's perimeter.

length = 4x

breadth = 3x

by Pythagoras theorem

(4x)² + (3x)² = 25²

16x² + 9x² = 625

25 x² = 625

x² = 25

x = 5

length = 5×4 = 20

breadth = 5×3 = 15

perimeter = 2(l+b)

                 = 2(15+20)

                 = 2×35

                 = 70
