\bold\green{\underline{Question}}

 if  x -  \frac{1}{x} =4 \: than \: find \:  {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }

\bold\green{\underline{\underline{:SOLUTION:}}}

  • Here, squaring on both sides

↪(x -  \frac{1}{x} ) {}^{2}  =  {4}^{2}  \\  \\ ↪ {x}^{2}  - 2 \times x \times  \frac{1}{x} +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 16 \\  \\ ↪ {x}^{2}  - 2 +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 18 \\  \\ ↪ {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 16 + 2 \\  \\ ↪ {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 18

Hence,

  • the value of x²+1/x²=18
