Answer:

x=3/5 and y= -2/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x+y=a and x-y=b then

10a+2b=4--------------(1)

and

15a-5b=-2---------------(2)

Multiply (1) by 3 and  (2) by 2

======================================

30a+6b=12

30a-10b=-4

======================================

on subtraction we get

6b+10b=12+4

16b=16

b=1

from (1) we have

10a+2*1=4

10a=2

a=1/5

so

x+y=1/5

x-y=1

================

on adding we get

2x=1+1/5=6/5

x=6/10=3/5

now x-y=1

3/5-y=1

y=3/5-1=3/5-5/5=-2/5

so x=3/5 and y= -2/5
