Answer is 30 minutes.

In the factories that deal with processes such as welding, brazing or cutting, there are more chances of fire accidents. So, Fire watchers are specially appointed to watch out for any fire hazards and extinguish the fire as soon as the ignition occurs.

Generally, they are advised to wait 30 minutes after the process completion, to ensure that there is no possibility of catching fire.

Answer: 30 minutes (half an hour)

Fire watches are required whenever there exists a process of welding, soldering, cutting and in the place of explosive atmospheres where readily ignitable materials are present.

It should be in process for a minimum of 30 minutes (a half hour) further the overall completion of welding, brazing or cutting operations which will help to identify and put out smouldering fires, sparks or slag which may fall after these hot works.

It should be placed opposite to the work place where combustibles are present.

Ensure the presence of fire watch before performing any welding operations.
