There
are a few reasons why early temples were very much like houses. Some of them
are:
* The produce was processed in temples like how it would have been done in houses. Various activities like spinning, weaving and grain grinding took place temples.
* The temple complex was used not for performing rituals alone. It also served as the living abode of priests who ruled Mesopotamia in early days, as well as featured warehouses, accommodations of artisans, and workshops.
