Question :- Jerry started doing sit ups everyday. The first day he did 15 sit-ups. everyday after that he did 2 more sit ups than he had done the previous day. today jerry did 33 sit ups. enter an equation that could be solved to find the number of days jerry has been doing sit ups, not counting the first day.

The equation ____d+_____=______ can help find the number of days jerry has been doing the sit ups.

Solution :-

Let us assume that, in D days , Jerry did 33 sit ups.

given that,

→ In first day sit - ups he did = 15 .

and,

→ Everyday he did more sit - ups = 2

then,

→ In D days he did more sit - ups = 2 * D = 2D sit - ups .

therefore,

→ Total Sit - ups after D days = sit - ups on first day + more sit - ups he did in D days

→ 33 = 15 + 2D

→ 2D = 33 - 15

→ 2D = 18

→ D = 9 days.

hence,

→ Required Equation :- 2D + 15 = 33 (Ans.)
