The first thermal power station is TheHussain Sagar Thermal Power Station in Hyderabad city (Nizam State) commissioned in 1920 with a capacity of 22.5 MW consuming of about 200 tons of coal per day but due to practical and environmental issues it was shut down in 1984 and was completely demolished in 1995.
