First point is that homologous chromosomes are present in Autosomes i.e. the 22 pairs of chromosomes that code for all other functions apart from reproduction and not present in the pair of sex chromosomes of humans.

Homologous chromosomes contain the same genes in the same loci.

Heterologous chromosomes are chromosomes present on different loci which cannot undergo genetic recombination.

During mitosis and meiosis, homologous chromosomes can undergo genetic recombination to produce different genes.

“Homo” means same so these chromosome are the pair..

“HETRRO” MEANS different , so these are another pair of chromosome.. these are also called non homologous chromosome

Ex- like ch-3 crosses if with ch-4 it will be called heterologous..
