There are many types of exercises that can be used with an unseen comprehension passage.

1.    Simple question and answers- These are straightforward/direct and factual questions.

2.    True and false- These can be factual or can be indirect, in which the student needs to draw inferences based on his or her own understanding.

3.    Order- Such questions test whether the learner has clearly understood the sequence of events or not.

4.    Opinion/argumentative questions- In this case, the student will be given a statement that he or she needs to agree or disagree with. Reasons will have to be provided to support their stand.

5.    Comparison questions- These questions can be direct or application based. They may require the learner to draw comparisons between two things in the text or one thing from the text and the other from outside the text.
