Step-by-step explanation:

Let, small bucket =x

large bucket=y

Given,

5 small buckets and 2 large buckets of water make 20 lit

so, 5x+2y=20________(eq 1)

2small buckets and 3 large buckets of water make 19 lit

so, 2x+3y=19_________(eq 2)

(eq 1)×2

10x+4y=40_______(eq 3)

(eq 2)×5

10x+15y=95_______(eq 4)

solve (eq 4)-(eq 3)

10x+15y=95

( - ) 10x+4y=40

_________

11y = 55

y=55/11

y=5

i.e., large buckets contain 5lit of water

sub y=5 in(eq 1)

5x+2y=20

5x+2(5)=20

5x+10=20

5x=20-10

5x=10

x=10/5

x=2

i.e., small buckets contain 2lit of water
