five things that we should do and five things that we should not do during the monsoon season/flood:
dos and don't
Answers
Answer:
Do's
Before Flood
Build an emergency kit and make a family communications plan.
Avoid building in a floodplain unless you elevate and reinforce your home.
Elevate the furnace, water heater and electric panel in your home if you live in an area that has a high flood risk.
After Flood
Move immediately to higher ground or stay on high ground.
Evacuate if directed.
Avoid walking or driving through flood waters. Turn Around, Don't Drown! Just 6 inches of moving water can knock you down and 1 foot of water can sweep your vehicle away.
Dont's
Do not walk through flooded areas.
If you have to walk in water, wherever possible, walk where the water is not moving.
Do not drive into flooded areas.
Do not touch electrical equipment if you are wet or standing in water.
