Answer:

present

Explanation:

Age of the son =x

Age of the father=7x

Present ages=x+5 and 7x+5

future age of the son=x+10

father=7x+10

7x+10=4(x+10)

7x + 10= 4x +40

7x-4x=40-10

3x=30

X=30/3

X=10

present age of son: X+5= 10+5=15

present age of father=7x+5=70+5=75

Answer:

Let the age of Man be =x

And the age of his son be =y

5 years ago,

Age of Man =x-5

Age of his son =y-5

A/q x-5 = 7(y-5)

x-5= 7y-35

x-7y= -35+5

x-7y = -30 ------------(1)

5 years hence ,

Age of Man=x+5

Age of his son=y+5

A/q X+5=4(y+5)

X+5=4y+202

X-4y =20-5

X-4y =15 ----------------(2)

Subtracting (2) by (1)

x-7y=-30

x-4y=15

_____________

-3y=15

y= -15/3

y=-5

Putting the value of y in (1)

X-7y =-30

X-7× (-5) =-30

X+35=-30

X=-30-35

X=-65

Hence the present age of Man be 65years

And the present age of his son =5
