Let the number of family members be x

the average age of the family members 5 years ago is 225 years

so the sum of age of all family members 5 years ago =225x

the sum of age of these family members now and after 5 years elapsed =225x (these added 5 years no of family members) =225x+5x=230x

Sum of ages =230x

no. family members be x

Therefore, current, average age = sum of ages/no. of members

so, age of the family = 230x/x = 230

Thus , the present age of the family will be 230yrs.
