Floppy disks were used in the old times for storing and transferring data from one device to another. USB’s have replaced the floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs. USBs are being used commonly to transfer data from one device to another since a long time. It is also used to connect external peripherals like optical drives, ethernet ports, adapters and many more. As the technology advances, do you think that in the near future, anything like Bluetooth can replace USB’s for long distance connectivity with the same data transfer speed and other features of USB? Justify your answer with solid reasons. Specify your answer within 4-5 lines

As of now, bluetooth cannot replace the USB for long distance connectivity.

  • As discussed in the question itself, the USB is used for various long distance (wired) digital connectivity purposes. The wired USB has longer range of transmission and faster data transmission speed.
  • But, on the other hand, the transmission range of wireless bluetooth is as small as 10 metres. So from the transmission range aspect, the bluetooth cannot replace the USB.
  • And,the data transmission speed of bluetooth is much more less than the USB.
  • So, as of now bluetooth is far behind in the competition with the USB.
  • But,due to the constantly evolving technology we can surely expect an faster wireless alternative in the future.
