Focal length of a convex mirror is 12cm. Find the nature, position and size of image if an object is placed at a distance of 6cm from the mirror

Answer:

U = -6cm, f = 12 cm, v = ?

We know that

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

⇒ 1/v + 1/-6 = 1/12

⇒ 1/v = 1/12 + 1/6 = 3/12 = 1/4

∴ v = 4 cm

Image will be formed 4 cm behind the mirror.

Since the image is formed behind the convex mirror, it is virtual and erect
