Don't be confused…..understand it by a number line(normally we use in maths)
….-7 -6 -5 -4 -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 …..
As we move from right to left …we get smaller numbers …..and smaller number represents colder ( like 6 degree is colder than 7 degree …..as 6 is smaller than 7 …(6<7) )……so as we see from the number line -6 lies on left side of -5 ….so -6 is smaller than -5 (-6 < -5)…..so….-6°c (smaller) is colder than -5°c.
