Answer:

distance =1/2×2×4 +1×4 +1/2×2×2=4+4+2=10m

displacement =+(1/2×2×4)+(1×4)-(1/2×2×2)

=+4+4-2=+6m

Average velocity =+6m/5s

=1.2m/s

Distance= 10m

Displacement = 6m

Average Velocity = 1.2m/s

Explanation:

The distance travelled by the particles is,

=\frac{1}{2}\times2\times4+4\times(3-2)+\frac{1}{2}\times2\times(5-3)

=4+4\times1+1\times2

=4+4+2\\=10\ m

The displacement travelled by the particles is,

=\frac{1}{2}\times2\times4+4\times(3-2)-\frac{1}{2}\times2\times(5-3)

=4+4\times1-1\times2

=4+4-2\\=6\ m

Average velocity v,

v=\frac{Displacement}{Time}

v=\frac{6}{5}

v=1.2\ ms^{-1}
