For a rectangle, the length and breadth are increased by 10 %
and 20% respectively. What is the percentage increase in area ?

Let the Length of the rectangle be L.

So, we can say

L+10%

Now, Breadth is increased by 20%

Taking breadth as B,

We have

B+20%

Now , Area of rectangle is L×B

 \frac{100l + 10}{100}  \times  \frac{100b + 10}{100}  = area

Calculating this we get the answer AS 24%(approx.)
