ANSWER:-

GIVEN:

___________

alpha and beta are two zeros of the polynomial

3x^2 + 12x+15.

TO FIND:

____________

alpha^2+beta^2

SOLUTION:

______________

let alpha and beta are a and b respectively.

As per the question a and b are the two zeros of the polynomial 3x^2 +12x+15.

By solving the polynomial we get:

3x^2+12x+15=0

=>3x^2+3x+15x+15=0

=>3x(x+1)+15(x+1)=0

=>(3x+15)(x+1)=0

=>x=(-5,-1)

a=-5 and b=-1

so a^2+b^2

=(-5)^2+(-1)^2

=25+1

=26
