For a sequential reaction.
NH3->N2+H2 ...(i)
H2+02->H20 ...(ii)
What will be the amount of water which will be obtained if 5 moles of NH3 is mixed with 3 moles of O2 and % yield of 1st and 2nd reaction is 50% and 80% respectively

(i) 5/9 Moles of H2

(ii) 18 g

Explanation:

i) NH3 -> 1/2 N2 + 3/2 H2

Given : 5 moles

=> 5/2 Moles of H2 X 50/100

= 5/9 Moles of H2

ii) H2 + O2 = H2O

= 5/9 AND 3 MOLES

= 5/9 X80/100 Mole of H2O

5/9 X 0.8 X 18

= 18 g
