# Given -
α = 0.8
∆Ib = 6 mA
# Solution -
For a transistor, α and β are related as -
β = α / (1-α)
β = 0.8 / (1-0.8)
β = 4
But, current gain is calculated by formula -
β = ∆Ic / ∆Ib
∆Ic = β × ∆Ib
∆Ic = 4 × 6
∆Ic = 24 mA
Therefore, collector current changes by 24 mA.
