hi ravi,

given AP = 1/3 , 5/3 , 9/3 , ....

common difference
= a2 - a1
= 5/3 - 1/3
= 4/3

neetikamehta: Common difference=5/3-1/3=4/3
jish4you: yes
neetikamehta: 9/3-5/3=4/3
neetikamehta: Both are common hence it is called as common difference
neetikamehta: So,next time if the number in AP the find the difference of consecutive number s u get the answer

let a be first term and b be the second term
a=1/3,b=5/3
formula,
d=b-a
d=(5/3)-(1/3)
d=(5-1)/3
d=4/3
so the required common difference is 4/3
